Hey guys,
Ok dumb quetsion, but how are you going to time yourself for the actual sat.. i know they time us.. but do the proctors write something on the board or let us know when we have 10 minutes left etc.. or are you guys just gonna wear a watch and just keep track of it after the proctor says start..?

I honestly don't know, I'm just practicing to the point that I'd finish ahead of time anyway, that way when time is called I'm in the middle of checking rather than finishing.

watch. digital watch. no sounds.
i was going to buy a "testing timer" from amazon, but 20 bucks just for a timer . . . .

Hopefully, there'll be a clock in the testing room, but I'd bring a digital watch as well.

i don't know how to turn off the sound on my watch timer...you think they'll mind if it all of a sudden goes off..

yeah they'll kick you out and never allow you to take the sat again. no joke, happened to a dear friend of mine. He now lives in a shack made out of cardboard. Had he just taken our advice . . . bless the poor guys' heart.

I can concur with the above allegory. You are better off to make no sound whatsoever, lazybutsmart.

An ordinary watch might be useful though. Well, at least for me, one can see more clearly how much time you have left since the beginning, or how much time you have left. You wouldnt need to be thinking & substracting the time, going like "hmm, at 9:26 the time ends, we started at 9:01, now is 9:13... so I still have 13 min. left... "
Well, overalll, I think is more like a personal habit~

hmm, oki, thanks!

I agree with pikaso. I use a digital watch and set it to 12:00. So by the end of the essay, it's 12:25, then 12:50, 1:15, and so on.
I took my SAT II in the same classroom, so I know that there is a clock there. But I prefer my digital watch. :)
Also, I think proctors are supposed to call out 5 min/2min/1min.. not sure though.

I think you can request proctors to call out the time as you prefer (or as the class agrees), but that's only if you happend to meet a nice proctor... -.-"
