Timing of Scholarship Notifications

Just wondering — does the scholarship appear under “Campus Finances” on the MyPitt account?

As far as I know you don’t get the student account access until you pay tuition deposit and get a my pitt edu email address.

Then when the financial aid awards are listed in the account the scholarship should be listed as anticipated aid.

@memelover I believe the scholarship notifications are only sent by mail.

@mommdc @RyanG1207 thank you!

@memelover, You will be notified of any scholarships you may be selected for via mail. I do not believe you will be able to view scholarships under Campus Finances.

In the spring, students who have committed to Pitt should then be able to view their award package (scholarships, grants, loans, work-study) in my.pitt.edu in the Self Service Student Center.

Is there a way to confirm that the short answers were received? My DS sent them back in October via the link. He was admitted in late Sept. No word on any scholarship info which I would have thought he’d hear about by now given his SAT score and GPA. It made me wonder if they received his short answers.

@PAO2008, The form is quite reliable and I haven’t heard about any issues we’ve had with it, so I am guessing we have them. (But feel free to contact us if you would really like to double check.) The more likely scenario: our Scholarship Committee has many applications to review and they often review one candidate several times before making a decision. It can take a little while to hear back from them. But any student who is selected to receive a scholarship should hear back by March 1.

Hope that helps!

@hailtopitt1787 Thank you.

@hailtopitt1787 From what I understand, we still have to send in our final transcripts? I’m worried about how some colleges rescind acceptances/scholarships because I have a lot more A-s and one B this semester, which is a little lower than my usual grades of A-s and As… Should this be something I should be extremely worried about?

@jumpingstar, I don’t think you should be too worried, just try your best.

@jumpingstar, No, I don’t think you should worry. Just do your best, as mommdc suggested.
