If my final grades are released May 1st, but Penn sends out acceptence/rejection letters MID-MAY to June (rolling, they said), then, will they probably request the final grades from my current college?

The midterm report has already been submitted, etc.

they most likely will not see your final grades until after the send the letter...lots of schools don't even finish finals until the second week of May, so it would be unfair to see some final grades and not see some...they will request the grades just to make sure you didnt bomb your semester (and therefor they will take back your admission), or if they waitlist you

true, but if someone has a 3.4 applying and another has a 3.5, then obviously the 3.5 should get in...but say StudentA has a 3.4 and can send in final grades, which bumps them up to a 3.6, whereas StudentB has a 3.5 as of applying, then gets a 4.0 during their final semester but their semester ends too late to send in grades...should StudentA get in over StudentB just because they had a higher GPA by chance that their semester ended earlier than StudentB, when StudentB still has a higher GPA in the end?

sorry to divert the topic of this thread, but people on this forum seem particularly unresponsive to a previous thread i made. anyway, my question is that if you apply to penn using the common app + supplement, which essays need to be sent in? the common app personal statement and the penn supplement essay for transfers ask pretty much the same thing. do you turn in both essays, or just one?
