Timing, Transfers, and Double Deposits-Help

I just read a thread that double depositing is considered unethical and risky for high school seniors unless a student gets into a college off the wait list. I agree with this rule.

What about transfer students? Students entering freshman year have a standard date for notification but transfers do not. What if you are accepted from a rolling admissions school and given two weeks to decide but some of your schools won't let you know until late May or early June. I realize the deposit will be forfeit, but is it O.K to deposit on the rolling school if you plan to accept one of the May/June schools if offered?

TaylorSailor,
Double Deposits is different than accepting admission for a school with the understanding that you will revoke your admission as soon as you hear from that school.
There are many threads that address this topic, as it is common for students to do this to secure their spot in A school, rather than risk the chance of none at all.
Good luck!

hey, yea i would do that… actually im going to do that… im a transfer and ive got a school where im like 99% sure ill get in, my safety… ill find out about that in like a month, and have 3 weeks to reply, then i gotta wait like another few weeks for my first choice… so ill say yes to the first one, and then if i get into my 1choice, then ill go there
i think this entirely ethical and ok, its not your fault that they notify at different times… and ur not gonna give up your dream school just because you heard from another one first… at least imo

Thanks. This process is stressful. I think I worry too much.
