I have a question concerning about stuff for college admission. I plan to apply EA, so the deadline is Nov 1. Can my teachers send the essay to colleges BEFORE I submit application online ? literally I'm asking if I can submit parts of application on separate days ?

yes... when colleges receive stuff, they will generally create a file for you and put everything they receive in it. I wouldn't worry about them receiving school supplies before the application.

ok I just ask to make sure if it's ok for me. so generally the college will start after Nov 1 when everything is done ?
I have another question: after the college let me know whether I am admitted or not, in case I'm not admitted (which I dont wanna be ), can I call the office to ask why ?
And, because I'm afraid I may not have enough requirement before Nov 1, can I ask the college if my application is treated as that for EA ?

They may do some preliminary reading -- they may wait for files to be complete. It depends on what works for them.

You can call to ask but they have nothing to gain by telling you anything. Anything they say can be challenged (litigation) so I'm sure they won't tell you a word.

Your third question isn't clear. Can you restate?

oh sorry for being unclear
my third question is: I have 6 colleges for EA. However, I'm afraid I do not have enough requirements for 1-2 colleges, which means I'm not qualified for EA. In such case, is my application automatically regarded for RD later on ? And how do I know my app is considered for RD ?

If you're not accepted EA you will either be deferred to Regular Decision or you'll be rejected and they won't consider your application further. The schools will notify you of their decision regardless of what it is. I don't think there's much to be gained by calling and asking them why if you don't get accepted.

I'm pretty sure that you can send them before. But, if the college that you're applying to doesn't need a supplement essay, you should definitely submit the supplement earlier.

Oh yea, this is just a random question because I don't want to start another thread...
What exactly is the mailing address for the U of Chicago (where I can send transcript, secondary school report, teacher rec)? Collegeboard website is different from the school website (but the school website isn't clear either). Thanks!

Office of College Admissions
1101 E. 58th Street
Chicago, IL 60637-5416

That's what's on the website for undergraduate admissions, xm1chelle. Not sure why it's unclear. It sounds like your found a different address -- ?

@'rentof2: but the reason I'm not qualified for EA is I do not turn in all required materials on time. anyway if I'm not admitted EA for that reason, when does college tell me, because I need to know to supplement materials if college changes me to RD or reject me ?

Not sure, legend. You should call admissions and ask what happens to an EA application if all the required materials are not received by the deadline. Does it automatically revert to a Regular Decision application? They will be able to tell you the way they handle that.

lol I got it. I hope they will transfer my app to RD. I dont wanna waste app fee for no reason
