Tip: UCB LiveJournal

For those of you who don't already know of this resource, there's a hugely active LiveJournal community devoted to UC Berkeley, at: http://community.livejournal.com/ucberkeley/

Though it won't be a great help for admissions questions (CC is a much more effective and appropriate tool for that), from the LiveJournal you can get very helpful, quick responses to various questions you might have that are related to living/studying at Berkeley. There is also a greater preponderance of current Berkeley students on the LJ, if that is where your questions are geared. Take a look!

Great topic -- I often direct people to the LJ, but never thought to make a thread out of it. Perhaps this'll help to get rid of a lot of the repetitive questions here.

there is also a new site trying to get started called spigitu which uses a special system to qualify the posts people make AND it has social networking so its not as anonymous as lj or cc...what do you guys think about it?

LJ is far from anonymous -- hell, the site is comprised people's personal journals. Far from anonymous (not to mention everyone has a profile, can add friends, can comment on posts, can add posts to memories, etc. -- so it's basically social networking).

ttt i need to keep this link
