Honestly I don't think this is enough I have seen other people and they look pretty good. but who knows......

It’s hard to tell about your chances without SAT scores. I would say that a number of applicants don’t get into West Point because of a physical disqualification or lack of nomination.

Frankly, no one on here can look at your resume and rate your chances, but lots of people like to guess. Check the stats posted on the WP, USNA or AFA sites and you will see that 90+% are varsity athletes, were in the top 10% of their class, had various other ECA involvement and had excellent ACT/SAT scores. Your competition will be the top student/athletes from across the country.

Also, no one on here will be able to interview you so we have no idea what your teacher recommendations will say and/or how you might do on your MOC interviews. Each is an important aspect of the application process that your resume will never be able to assess. Those are the realities.

I’ve had two boys go through WP who were diametrically opposed in school. The oldest did not do well in high school, but enlisted and proved his leadership potential. He was awarded a presidential appointment. My youngest was a nominated national merit scholar and a nominated all state athlete, etc, and received two rejection letters regarding health issues that he had to fight. He received a double nomination and appointment in high school. Allot of that can be chalked up to a type of gut check to see how bad you want in. The application process is arduous and the selection process is highly competitive. I’ve met cadets that are friends of my sons who got in after their second application. The ‘odds’ are against most candidates, but like I said, you have to make the effort to find out.

Thanks for the replies guys. So do you guys know any specific thing that they are looking for in a cadet? Somebody told me that they want engineers which is what I want to pursue.

They look for Academic, leadership, and extracurriculars/athletics.

Apply for the SLS and Boys State <—Looks very good on application.

Holding leadership positions proves that you`re already a leader in you community. Can you become Eagle Scout? That always looks good on the application. Do you hold any specific leadership positions in CAP?

The volunteering is definitely a +1. Keep doing well in school. Are you a member or officer in any clubs at school?

Most of the people who belong here also belong to serviceacademyforums.com, and you could probably receive better answer there. Hope that helps.
