don’t know anything about it - but the webpage should help you out

[University of North Texas Undergraduate Viewbook | Admission](http://www.unt.edu/vwbk/admission.htm)

All I know is it is really hard to get into their music program.

^Absolutely right. It’s not a hot destination for the top 10% crowd here in Texas, so that gives the rest of us a chance. Look at their stats on their website and in collegeboard. If you go there, be sure to look into the Albino Squirrel Preservation Society if you like unusual clubs. Yes, they really do have albino squirrel(s) on the campus. ;)

UNT is not a hard school to get into at all. Most people I know consider it a very very small step up from community college, so it’s a mostly commuter school. Living ten minutes from Denton, I don’t see why anyone would choose to live in such a boring, dirty town though, but to each his own I suppose.

Accepted UNT students score an average of 1092 on the SAT, significantly higher than the state average of 999 and the national average of 1017. UNT was named by Princeton Review as one of America’s 120 “Best Western” colleges. UNT also leads Texas in the number of students selected as Goldwater Scholars in math and science. Not really sure which college the poster was talking about but it isn’t UNT.

if you want to go to college in the dallas area, go to UT Dallas. New tier 1 bill was signed last week on UTD campus. UTD has the most potential to be one of the tier 1 schools. UTD gives 50% of its students a scholarship. Kinda a commuter school, but a new freshmen dorm is being built and will be ready in the fall.

unt isnt hard to get into, and no one really sees it as a good school aside from their music program.

no its cuz they got a good communications field and so yea i wanna try getting into tht… lol

About 2/3s of the students were admitted though, and not everyone submitted scores.

First you have to have a pulse, and then you have to write your name down on the enrollment sheet.

UNT also leads Texas in the number of students selected as Goldwater Scholars in math and science.

This is primarily due to TAMS, the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which operates at the UNT campus. TAMS is a program for high school juniors and seniors who live at UNT and take regular UNT classes, earning college credit and finishing high school simultaneously.

^ TAMS is FILLED with Asians (I was invited to go, but didn’t, but have a friend who did), aka the people who love math/science.

Honestly. UNT will never be considered a competitive school. You could do worse I suppose, but there are far better U’s out there.

By the way bigp, I love you for that comment. So true.

“First you have to have a pulse, and then you have to write your name down on the enrollment sheet.”

ouch haha

If you graduate in the 4th quartile of your class what are the chances of getting into UNT?
Senior year i made all A’s and B’s but the years before that i made B’s and C’s. Not to mention if i make at least over a 500 on the math and reading section will i be able to get in??

prue, looking at that link, it seems that if you’re in the 4th quartile you could get in with “exceptional scores” on the SAT or ACT. Good luck.

Alright, thank you.
