The workbook we use in class is good for grammar/listening practices. I was just wondering if any past/current spanish students have any tips for the ap exam. I'm worried about listening/speaking. I guess I could watch some news on BBC. I try to think in Spanish as much as possible. Did you guys prepare everyday? thanks.

Ideally, preparing every day would be the best idea-- watching BBC Mundo, or maybe finding some Spanish shows / shows dubbed in Spanish (lol) to watch, so you can have fun and learn Spanish at the same time. More realistically speaking, though, that definitely didn’t happen for me. The listening practices in class really helped me a lot; I just paid attention to those and tried my best, and when the AP test rolled around, I suddenly found the actual exam easier than the practices. (We used Triangulo, I think?) With a good class, the in-class preparation should be plenty. If you need more speaking practice, try getting some friends and just talking in Spanish together.

We’re using Preparing fopr the AP Spanish Exam…we do listening practice once a week.

just know how to keep a simple conversation up without letting it go stale! I did not take any spanish courses at school (i took french) but i took the ap spanish test anyway and passed it! the essays and multiple choice were rather simple, the tape recording was the one that almost made me slip.

i found that the environment in which you live in helps the most. if you live in an area where you can speak spanish on a regular conversational basis do so. usually on the AP exam the listening and the speaking are the hardest parts; most people find the reading and writing easier. unfortunately for me i live in a majority korean neighborhood and it’s impossible to start a convo with a native speaker. hopefully your situation is better.
