tips for corporate scholarships

None of my reach schools offer scholarship for NMF. It makes logical sense to tailor my activities and essay to corporate scholarships or the scholarship offered by NMSC ($2500).

Is it true that you will have the highest chance for a scholarship/ get the most money from the corporation that your parents work for?

Also, what tips are there for getting the scholarship for corporations or the NMSC scholarship of $2500?

Can someone tell me a guideline of what they wrote/ how much money they got?

there is a PDF file somewhere with NMS that lists which company gives out how many, if the company your parents work for gives to all, then I think that is what you will get unless you get college sponsored scholarship. Check with company how much it gives out. Call NMS when you cannot find answers.

It makes logical sense to tailor my activities and essay to corporate scholarships or the scholarship offered by NMSC ($2500).

Not really.

Nearly ALL corporate scholarships are awarded to the children of employees of the corp. So, if your parents don’t work for one, then you won’t get one. The exceptions are a tiny number who are awarded for certain unique majors.

As for the one time $2500 NMCorp scholarship…I could be wrong, but I think those are offered by strength of SAT score…not strength of essay. The students I know who got the $2500 had high SAT scores.

So…apply to a safety school that offers a big NMF scholarship and name that as #1… Then that school can be your financial safety school.
