Tips for getting into Carlson as a Freshmen?

Well i'm a senior in HS and am in the midst of the application process. I live in minnesota and the more I look at schools the more I want to go to Carlson. The problem is that its a bit of a reach for me to get in, and without an essay it doesn't seem that I have a very good chance. Average act for freshmen is 28, I got a 26 (taking it again this month). Average class rank is top 6%, i'm 11%. I go to a small schools where not many college classes and APs are offered. I've taken every college class and AP offered in my school except for one, and am sitting pretty good for extracurriculars (4-H, student council, school newspaper editor, NHS, knowledge bowl, cross country, track, selected for and attended boys state, concert band, pep band) I've won a small award here and there but nothing big, mainly most dedicated stuff for XC.

Anyways I'm just hoping that someone has a suggestion or two of ways to get in. It seems like the school isn't going to get a good enough impression of me just by numbers and activites. It shows nothing about my dedication to things I do and at all the type of person I am.

Well thanks for taking the time to read this and if anyone has any ideas or suggestions post em, they'll be much appreciated.

Well, the first suggestion I can make right off the bat is to make sure you apply early! They have rolling admissions so make sure you get it in as soon as possible to better your chances. Do you have any volunteering hours and/or business E.C.'s? Those would also help as well.
