I've had my heart set on going to NYU since I was really young and I just finished my freshman year of high school. I finished with a 3.2 GPA, getting mostly A's and B's and a C in Geometry which was what mainly affected my GPA. I know it's a bit premature to be so set on a university, but I really want to go to NYU and I've looked through the threads and was just wondering what tips students had on getting accepted. Also, do you think my freshman year grades will greatly affect my chances? I know they aren't very good, but I'm hoping that if I can get better grades in my following years of high school it won't really affect my application. I'm also homeschooled, by the way.

If you show an upward trend in your grades, you should be fine. I had a 3.3 UW (approximately) freshman year, and I got into NYU.
