tips for getting into Penn state or can i get in??

<p>I have a 3.3 gpa and 3.7 weighted
I have taken honors and AP all throughout high school not all classes mainly math and english
I have 150 hours community service
Was on the swim team for a year
have been on the: Drama club, spanish club, invisible children, Model U.N, and future buisness leaders,
I have 2 great recommendation letters
got an 1800 on my Sat retaking and aiming for a 1900
Not a resident from Arizona
Im worried because my Gpa is not the best and they said 2/3 of if you get in is based on your gpa
I REALLLY want to get into this school can I get in tips? Advice?
P.S. My cousin got in with a 3.2 Gpa and also a 1780 on her SaT but she was in a top school for New Jersey and said that they like kids from her school.</p>

<p>To me it looks like you have a good shot. For state schools, especially Penn State, GPA and SAT scores are the most important factors. Your SAT scores seem to be in range (somewhere around 1900 is where my friends who are applying there aim for). Your GPA might be a little low, but it is all in the context of your course load. If you took many AP courses, then that could certainly justify your lower grades, as most Penn State applicants have only taken a few. Also, APPLY NOW. Penn State practices rolling admissions and the earlier you apply the more likely they have a spot for you. Get in your app as soon as possible (hopefully before November) in order to give yourself the best shot of getting in.</p>
