Tips for improving ACT score(s)?

I just took my first ACT practice test, and I scored a composite score of 31 (28E/33M/31R/33S). The math thing was kind of a fluke, although it is admittedly harder than SAT math (I scored 800 both times I took it). But I am very concerned about my English and Reading scores, because the former is weighing my score down quite dramatically. I am aiming for a 34+ (my current SAT score translates to around 31/32 on the ACT) when I take it my first and last time in September. Does anyone have any tips or materials to raise and improve my scores? Thanks in advance!

bumppp. Took another practice test got a 32 (30E/36M/31R/31S). Would really like to get some resources suggestions.

Get Erica Meltzer’s Guide to ACT English. It’s kind of pricey but definitely worth it if you want to get a better English score. I was able to raise my English score by 7 points!

For your first time, those are promising scores! Use the official ACT red book, as that will have most accurate tests you can study. I’ve found PrepScholar’s online articles about how to approach individual sections helpful (note that I am not suggesting you try PrepScholar online course; that is for you to decide whether you try).
