It's been kind of hard now. It wasn't at first- I made nice with the freshman on my floor, but now it suffices to say they aren't the most meaningful people. What can I do to meet more kids other than these kids?

try and see the good in everybody and remain open to new people. Easier said than done but it works.

You will meet kids in class by talking to those around you before and after class. If you can ...find a club you might be interested in and join. Force yourself ...Making friends takes time. Even if it looks like everyone else are friends they are in the same position as you and faking it until they find someone they can hang with

Ha, I agree with lolabelle wholeheartedly. I've made some friends in random places who turned out to be really cool. My roommate and I struck up a conversation with a guy in a line and we got along really well. Now, even though he's not in my classes or my hall or anything, every time I see him I say hi and strike up a conversation.
You never know when you'll meet someone you click with - so just say hi and introduce yourself if you're ever in line, in the dining hall (sit with someone who's sitting alone - it could be me, lol, especially if it's before my early class and none of my friends feel like waking up for breakfast).
Find a group/club that shares your interests and go for it. It's a little easier than talking to random people because you've already started out with something in common. So it's got two things going for it: 1) you make friends and 2) it gives you something to do, too.

I was wondering if someone could tell me more about the Greek life and party scene. I'm probably thinking of joining a frat, but are there also a lot of parties outside of the Greek scene?

There are tons. I have stepped into a frat once throughout my three-plus years at Tufts. At the same time, I do knwo people whose social lives revolve at least 50% around frats, so if that's what you're into, you can have it.

It means getting picked up by Tufts Emergency Medical Services... and when it's used as a verb, it usually means you were picked up for alcohol poisoning
