Hey guys! So many of you know summer has ended and our sleeping schedules had to be abruptly changed to fit school needs. Let us help each other by conveying tips on studying and staying awake after school in order to finish Hw and the like.

Or just don’t fall asleep. I’m always really tired after school, but I just make myself stay awake. Do something before homework to get you so you’re not as tired.

Well I need it to be pitch black or I can’t fall asleep so that helps. Tell yourself you won’t and go straight to the area you study in. Use bright lights and don’t get to comfortable. Don’t wear pajamas to study and don’t so it in your bed. Try to remind yourself that you’d rather get 7-8 hours straight (or whatever you get) than 5-6 (1-2 hours less) and 1 hour now. It’s not always bad to take a short nap when you need it, but don’t wake up at dinner time to start your homework.

I especially feel like napping during sports season when I get home at 6 o’clock and have already had a 12-13 hour day.

Go out for a walk/run, play some loud music, take a cold shower. Personally I don’t like eating before doing homework because it makes me feel lazy and tired. Plus a nice incentive would be for you to finish your homework, or at least most of it, before dinner. I usually do the busywork or any math before dinner, and reading or essays after.

Oh, and it also helps to get a computer for studying ONLY. Get a really nice computer so you won’t be tempted to download/do anything non-educational (or else the performance may drop).

coffee, coffee, coffee.
go to caribou after school. or starbucks if you’re into that kinda stuff.
After school/activities I drive myself and friends (only friends if you can actually study around them, if not go alone) to the library or the coffee shop. There’s something about going to a place specifically for working that helps me stay on task-as opposed to a bedroom.
Also, don’t work in any areas you usually watch TV, sleep, eat, etc. It’s basic psychology that if we’re in…say our room, we’ll be more likely to do those things rather than study because it’s what we are used to. Find a quiet place, like your home office, put on some gentle music-i hear classical helps, but you’ll blast rock if you’re me- and threaten yourself with punishments for not doing what you should/give yourself rewards for completing tasks

As 1sparkle2 says … Take a 10 minute nap. It really helps a lot. The trick is to only sleep for about 10 minutes. If you sleep for much longer, you’ll have a hard time getting going again.

I’m pretty sure this suggestion will, at the very least contradict the purpose of staying awake, but here it is:
My friend would go home and take a nap for about an hour. With that being said, don’t exert nor exasperate yourself over homework. If you’re tierd, then your tired. If its the amount of homemork being implied then I have no quibble.
