I've got about three weeks before I have to take this test and I know there isn't a lot of information on the new ap biology exam format. Does anyone who took last year's exam have any tips for preparing? Thanks!

I’m going to be taking it this year too, so I can’t really give any tips. Although, I heard that the Cliff Notes book follows the new format well. (That’s what my teacher said.) Good luck!

To be honest…it’s not a lot of memorization at all, like I thought last year. Like I read my whole AP Bio prep book (excluding practice test questions) and class notes and most of it didn’t really help me because most questions are critical reading analysis questions on labs that you may or may not have done in your class. So I would’ve probably done just as good if I hadnt gone over my notes. Of course there are a few memorization questions like I remember one about the order a message passes through parts of the nervous system, but just practice those critical lab reading questions the most and make sure you’re good at interpreting them. Also give yourself time to do all 8 free response. I didn’t know there was 8 free response for the new test because my teacher told me it was 4 -.-. So I basically had 5 minutes to do 4 questions because I didnt realize it until the end. (Still got a 4 though lol). So hope that makes you feel better, I’m sure you’ll do fine.
