I am a high school senior who will be attending the Fox School of Business at Temple University next year where I am going to major in HR management or international business.

My grades in high school weren't nearly good enough to get me into a business school like Wharton- I had an okay GPA, and decent extra curricular activities, but I was a little weak in math and did not take calculus. I also got a 1780 on the SATs, which I know is very underwhelming.

My question for you guys is, how could I ensure that I have a chance of being admitted into Wharton after a year of Temple? I have read that UPenn is transfer friendly- however, Wharton is extremely competitive to transfer into. I also have read that you need > 3.8 GPA to even be considered.

I am confident I can work to the best of my ability, and get a solid GPA. However, I am worried about a couple things:

(a) Wharton requires transfer students to have taken Calculus. I will be taking calculus my second semester, but will that show up on my transcript? (As the transfer app is due in January)
b) Does going to Temple severely hinder my chances of getting into Wharton by transfer?
(c) Would it make sense at all to try to retake the SATs once more and aim for >2000? Or would it not matter? I'm nervous that my low high school SAT scores will come back to haunt me..
(d) Is there any advice as to how to further distinguish myself/make connections in Philadelphia?

I greatly want to attend Wharton or one of the top business schools in the country so I can have the opportunity to get a great education and a degree from a very well renowned business school. Does it make sense for me to try my absolute hardest to transfer into Wharton, or should I look at other schools that might be slightly easier to transfer into? Are Columbia and Duke about the same transfer difficulty?

Thanks for all the help, I just want to know that this isn't an impossible dream. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
