Any tips? And in addition, how difficult would you say it is to transfer? Obviously its not a cakewalk but is it a damn near 0% chance of getting admitted off transfer?
You need to give them a very specific reason of why you need to be there. Not want, but need, since they can decipher who wants to be there just for the title or who needs to be there due to some circumstance.
I would definitely do a lot of research about Cornell. See what Cornell has to offer that your current school does not. Show Cornell that you absolutely have to be there. Show Cornell that you are passionate about whatever you want to study and would fit in with the other students of Cornell. Make sure you keep your college GPA high and do a lot of extracurricular activities in college relevant to your intended major. Get to know your professors well for good recommendations. What you did in high school is weighted less as you get older, so make sure you replace some of those flaws with better stats, more extracurriculars, and etc. It won’t hurt to try right, good luck!
@CoolBird Well beyond just wanting to go for the name, I’m primarily interested in their ILR school since it specializes in human and labor relations (something I’m considering doing) and also serves law students (something I’m also considering doing). @FriendlyPerson How many ECs could I do though relevant to my career goals? I would think 2 tops that I can dedicate my time to.
@8MoreThan92 Ok, and the reason why Cornell specifically is because they re the only ones with that program? Also in regards to your EC its all about quality over quantity. Prove leadership in your ECs
@8MoreThan92 From my perspective go with any EC you desire, and be dominant.
