Tips on getting into UIUC?

So I really want to get into UIUC. I want to be a trader or stock broker or something in finance. I live in illinois so an illinois school would be awesome.
I'm Currently a junior.

My GPA is a 2.8 as of sophmore but by the end of junior year it should raise up to 3.1. I plan on getting a 3.5+ GPA for the next 2 years. I didn't realize going into highschool that MY grades were so important.
I have a terrible ACT: 24. But I'm studying for the next 2 and a half months to try to get a 33!!

I know my grades and stuff are terrible but do they pay attention to an upward trend in GPA?

I played Varsity football, and track in highschool.
My entire life I have done Tae Kwon Doe, Tennis, Swimming, Hockey, Ice skating, soccer, basketball and varsity Football, varsity track.

So what are my chances as of now? And what would be my chances if I get my GPA up and ACT up?

I don’t know if this link will work, but if so, this graph will show stats pretty clearly in visual form. The graph indicates to me that GPA is pretty important. Work hard to get it over 3.0 in classes that count (like Math, Science, English, History). Remember not to slack off during senior year by taking frivolous classes.

You definitely won’t get in now. If you raise your GPA and test scores, to the scores you want, then you’ll have a good shot
