Tips on How to Focus Both UC Prompts

I'm beginning to write my personal statements for a CCC to UC transfer for the Fall 2013 semester/quarter.

I've read a lot that it's best to avoid any overlap between essays. While there isn't any information overlap, both essays seem to be highlighting my passion for the major (Computer Science and Engineering). Is this bad? Should I refocus one of them? Thanks in advance for any advice :).

I would like some advice on this too. Both my prompts are about my passion for computer science but the information is different.

I would say no if your essays are significantly different. It’d be nice if your essays showed either different “sides” of your passion for CS/ENGN, or different interests/ECs/personal qualities along with that one. It’s hard to say, but in general having two essays that ultimately highlight the exact same thing might get a tad dull.

This links offers excellent advice for UC transfer prompts. Good luck! :)
