I’m going to a community college fall 2018 and I cannot wait to transfer to sbu fall 2019, has your experience transferring been difficult, any advice and tips are appreciated.
Maintain good gpa, if your gpa is not so high ~3.3, try to apply to non competitive major to get in. Then you can change your major. According to what I see now, most of ceas applicants didn’t get their decisions yet, although it’s almost 1 May
@Dinacoltrane can I apply to sbu after only my first year of college?
You can, but in this case they will pay more attention to your hs transcript.
@Dinacoltrane how long do I have to wait to transfer so they don’t focus on my transcripts or sat scores
If you have around 50-60 credits, it’s about 1.5-2 years, they will consider mostly your college grades
Not true SB won’t consider high school grades if you have at least 24 college credits after hs
@lilaw88 24 transferable credits or 24 general credits?
24 college credits completed after graduating high school.

hey @sbuadmissions, ill be sending my transcripts in around a week from now,( by june 1st) with an estimated 3.6 gpa for 28 credits, due to the lateness of my submissions , roughly how well are my chances of entering the liberal arts school?
@nycsat I cannot provide estimated admission decisions. Just get us your transcript and app as soon as possible.
Hey @sbuadmissions I have a question regarding myself transferring to stony for this fall 2019 enrollment. So I did really horribly my first year of college while dealing with depression and subsequently failed basically everything and I was not happy at my school. I started pulling myself together this past year and have a 2.386 GPA as of summer 2018 and am taking 5 classes this semester and will be receiving all A’s and that will bring my GPA to a 2.809 and I will be taking 3 classes in this winter of 2019 and that should bring my GPA to a 2.962. In my case would admissions typically be asking for my spring 2019 grades before making a decision whether to admit me or not? I called the office of admissions and they were not very helpful. They just stated that as long as I’m very close to that 3.0 minimum GPA I have a good chance.
