Tips on what to bring to Emory

Unless they changed the style of their of the new beds. A fridge will fit under neath it along with your dressers. I cant speak on the size of the closets but I would be the size of a hall closet in the house.

Sharing stuff is a great way to cut down on cost. Sharing a tv, printer and fridge will be idea. You will probably use the fridge less than you think anyways

Yes a rolling plastic dresser can fit.

Comfortable shoes! You will be walking alot your first year. If you make friends with upperclassman some of them will let you borrow their cars to run errands. Taxis are really expensive in Atlanta and MARTA is slow.

Cliff shuttles are ones friend which yes, depending on destination, will still require walking.

Anyone get their PO Box # yet? I believe I need that if I’m going to ship D’s stuff down there…

^Here’s a quote from a recent email I got from emory:

Shipping -
(NOTE: New students should see their PO Box numbers posted to their OPUS account by the first week in August)

…so looks like you’ll have to wait a little longer to start shipping!

If you are shipping stuff for freshman I think they have another address you ship it to so it ships to a pod outside their dorm and will be there for pick up on their move on day.

thanks finnah and youknowme123 – I found out a tip (for those arriving early for sports) – mark “early arrival” so it doesn’t get pushed to the back.

Note that packages are delivered to the package center. The addresing protocol is name / dorm / Emory University Package Center, 605 Asbury Circle, Atlanta GA 30322.
