Tips or getting great grades in difficult classes?

Simple question really. I mean hard classes like APs/Honors. Or classes that are taught by bad teachers.

How do you study? How do you prepare for tests? More information if you have it! I want as much as possible (:

College lectures on YouTube. For example, there’s a series of biology lectures from UC Berkeley that use the same textbook as a lot of AP Bio classes.

Read through the entire chapter in the textbook if it’s at all possible. You won’t retain everything, but your understanding will be less disjointed than if you just read the parts you think you need.

On extended response questions, you don’t have to completely know what you’re talking about as long as you’re specific and provide evidence for the statements you do make. There’s not usually a single right answer.

If you rush through tests you will make dumb mistakes.

Use the textbook or online sources to take notes for yourself and try to reread them as often as you can. Try taking practice test online, that’s what I do to prepare for a test I’m nervous about.
