You seem like a cool, self-motivated kid. Also like someone obsessed with capitalization...did you try to make this all caps?

You should be more well-rounded. Right now all your extracurriculars seem to be very directed toward science, math, technology. That's good--you've done a great job. But you should do something in your community. Do you do regular volunteering? Start that now, it's not too late. Join a service club, start an activity--it's not hard. Use your skills to help others. You don't have to do something flashy.

Overall you're great. Keep doing your thing and don't direct all your activities toward MIT. Good luck, you have a long way to go in terms of high school years, so savor it and loosen up

Mallomar did a nice job with the advise. My only question is what regional did you attend and what team are you on for FIRST? I love Robotics...

Yes I Love Capitalization - I Rewrote All My Team's VB Project Code - So It was Title Case.

Umm Yes I Do a Lot of Community Service - About 50 Hours in Freshman Year, I Also Volunteer at the Library Every Week as an Administrative Assistant So Now When I Start Back Up Again I Will Get About (15 - 20 Hours a Month)

Im Aiming for A Congressional Medal or Certificate this Year

Umm we won the Peachtree Regional I Think, We Went to World Also

And Err in A Male South Asian (Indian Pride)>> LOL - I know that won't help my chances

Cool. You seem like you're on the right track. Keep doing what you love. Leadership positions and all that stuff will come to you; don't obsess over any of it. Colleges actually don't care about empty titles, contrary to popular belief. Keep your grades up and keep taking the hardest classes while having fun doing your research, etc.

I think another healthy thing for you to do is look at some other great schools. Think about CMU, Cal Tech, Rice, Cornell, Olin, Mich State, Harvey Mudd, Tufts, UT Austin, Johns Hopkins, Washington Univ. in St. Louis, Stanford, etc. These are all tough schools to get into but you seem capable of getting into at least some of them. You will be surprised at how many good, reputable, highly selective schools there are for you. You may not have heard of some of these schools, but look into them and you will find that some are actually really hard to get into and worth a look. You may find that you like some better than MIT.

Um and you'll be at Nationals next year too since you won a regional...where is Peachtree?

Damn son...nice job..but chill with the caps man.

Persoally, I'll look for an interesting volunteer position (unless adminstratorial assistant interests you) more in your field of interest.

Beef up for fencing :D. It's always fun to claim to be a scholar athlete...

Hmmmm.... watch some TV, play video games, stay up all night eating pizza and watching movies with friends, listen to really loud music, and have some fun.

I know, I know, this IS fun, but I firmly believe that super driven kids like you often lose their childhood being caught up in the race to a top college.

Don't loosen up, though, keep it up, and good luck!

hey you fence? sweet, me too! what weapon? will you be at the Memphis NAC?

haha i'm indian too lol!
