Tips to stay awake when you're dead tired from studying

Coffee!!
Put like three spoonfuls of sugar and cream. So Yummy!!!

Balance Power Bars. and Pepsi. Not together though....gross.

Last night I was trying to study for a Bio test and i was severly procrastinating, so i didnt start until 1230. I took a 15 nap about every 20 minutes or so until 3. This was a very stupid thing to do, but i couldn't help it, i was sooo tired! Do not do anything like that. im almost sure i bombed the test as an result.

^ o my gosh. I also decided to take a 15min nap. I even set my alarm, just incase I went to deep sleep. And my alarm didn't wake me up. And I woke up in the morning, sun streaming into my eyes, birds chirping, and I shouted "THE F WORD!!!!!!!!!!" (the actual word, not 'the f word')
I am never taking one of those short naps at 2am.
Oh and I failed 2 of my exams (practice)

Yeah, there's no point of studying if you are tired. You might as well go to sleep. If you know you are going to get tired at night, load yourself up with lots and lots of energy drinks when you are still up and ready to study. Then, when you are studying at night, the drinks would have already settled into full power. Sip the drinks as you work to keep the energy consistant.
And stuff the consequences.

cranberry juice...especially if you hate it. it works like magic, I swear.

Like most people, nap right after school. I CANNOT start homework right when I come home. It's never worked for me. I just can't do it. So I nap. It depends how late I'm after school, though. If I don't come home until 8, I'll nap for 20 minutes. If I come home at 4, I'll nap for two hours. Days where I don't get home until 10pm or later though I just take a shower and that serves as my "nap" (I'm an editor on the newspaper - we have some late nights some days).

DRINK constantly. One of my teachers once told the class to drink tons of water when studying... it works like magic. However, it's not all I drink, just the majority. I have a humongous water bottle that I keep refilling all throughout the night, but I also drink black coffee (two cups maximum since I don't really like black coffee, but if I add flavoring it makes me tired - I don't know why, but it does. Black coffee just seems to have a kick) and numerous cans of diet pepsi/coke/whatever has caffiene.

Also, munching. Usually dry cereal or some healthy-ish snack. Sunflower seeds work for me, as do almonds, peanuts, or cashews.

And I have an empty eye-dropper bottle that I fill with warm water and drop on my eyes. I don't know if this is good or bad to be honest, but it works for me. Tired eyes is usually a HUGE problem when studying, and the water helps keep them open. Washing face helps too, and music, though the only music I can listen to when studying is jazz. But loud music between studying is great. As is cleaning when listening.

That all said, the worst thing for me to do is take a nap between studying, because whenever I tell myself I'll wake up to finish it in the morning it NEVER works. EVER. I get everything done if it's a cram night and then I'll set my alarm for a few hours before school starts to TRY and do EXTRA, but that's totally marginal. If it works, I get extra study time, if it doesn't work, then atleast I've done all of it the night beforehand.
