Tips / what to expect on test day

I’m taking my SAT next weekend and I’m not sure what to expect. I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips for test day or could tell me what to expect. Thanks!

  1. Do NOT forget your ID. Keep that thing on you at all times. The first time I took the ACT, my wallet fell out of jacket pocket and I left it in my mom’s car. So instead of relaxing before the test, I was frantically calling my mom to come back the the test center to bring back my ID. Definitely do not recommend.

  2. Buy a good watch. Try to find one that doesn’t beep. People make watches specifically programmed on Amazon, so you might want to look those up. Another ACT story: I set an alarm on my watch for the ACT reading section (on the same test day as when I lost my wallet) and nearly forgot to turn it off before the section was over. I ended up stopping the alarm with one second left, and if it had went off, I would have had my test confiscated. Also do not recommend.

  3. Bring snacks. Snacks definitely give you some energy in between sections.

  4. Do some relaxing meditating the night before or the morning of. This is just to get you in a good mental state before you take the test. There are some great apps that help you meditate really well.
