'Tis the season...for chancing poor ED applicants who are REALLY freaked out! =)

Rank: 20th out of about 600; top 3% of the class
Class schedule: mostly honors and AP classes except for graduation requirements (business, gym, languages, etc.)</p>

Marching band: sophomore and junior year
Pep band: all four years
Literary magazine: all four years (literary editor for 3)
TEAMS (selective physics/engineering competition): my team placed 1st in state and 4th in the nation
Model UN: senior year
National Honor Society: senior year
I have others, but this is all I really had room for on my app, and these are the biggest most important ones.</p>

Have played piano for 7 years and flute for 6
Did ballet for 10 years
Went to Northwestern's CTD summer camp twice (took Psychology and Modern Political Theory)
Took online correspondence course from Northwestern (AP Psychology)
Legacy Heritage Internships for Young Scientists participant (spent 6 weeks doing physics research with professors at Hebrew University in Jerusalem)
National Merit Semifinalist, hopefully Finalist (PSAT: 224)
Won photography contest for Johns Hopkins' Imagine magazine
Entered Siemens and Intel competitions
AP Scholar Award
Won Americanism & Government Test at my school
Offered publication in Imagine magazine; I'm writing an article about marching band later this year
Offered publication in CAMERA on Campus (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America); my article will come out later this year
Write for a blog about Israeli news and culture called Oznia</p>

<p>In case you were wondering, the reason I didn’t focus on journalism schools is because I’m planning on double-majoring in sociology, or having that as my only major for the schools that don’t offer an undergraduate journalism degree and doing graduate work with it later. It was more important to me to attend a school that’s generally considered very good. =)</p>
