We just returned from the Tisch Accepted Students Day. I must say, we were very impressed. The new musical theatre program sounds exciting, and it sounds like lots of energy has been put into designing the new program & facilities. Faculty members have been recruited from around the country, and the new dance instructor was the same one who taught the dance combinations at the Carnegie Mellon auditions just a month and a half ago! CAP21 was an off site studio, and Tisch wanted very much to bring it home. We had positive impressions of the current students and accepted ones as well.

I’m curious to hear the impressions of others.

We are so glad to hear of your enthusiasm for the New Studio for MT. We were unable to attend due to a conflict in our son’s schedule. (He is attending a Master Class with Jason Robert Brown today at Broadway Artists Alliance, Lucky Boy!) We’ve reviewed the MT curriculum on the Tisch website and it sounds amazing. We are truly excited about the future of the New Studio and are proud that our son will be among the inaugural class. Congratulations to your son or daughter as well!

I am so glad to hear of your positive experiences! We are from North Florida and could not attend Acceptance Day because my son is running the state Thespian festival this week. Does anyone have info about the acting? It looks like the MT and Acting kids will take some of their classes together. At least I thought it said that about the core classes on the website. Is that true? How far is the New Studio from the actual campus? Also, did anyone get info about what dorms would be best for students at the New School. This is my first child going to college and I am so far removed! Any help would be great! I thought applying was overwhelming but I am totally overwhelmed by all of this! I’m extremely proud as well! This has been my son’s dream school since the 6th grade and he has worked so hard for this. He is excited to be part of the initial class. I was a bit nervous that the studio has no history however, the board of advisors looks phenomenal though! Thanks to all responders!
