Let's use this thread to post news related to Tisch letters!!!

Good luck to all!

Hey I applied for Tisch Film and I live in Connecticut. I haven’t gotten anything yet!

Hey I haven’t gotten my letter yet~
Hope it will come tomorrow because this whole waiting thing is killing me!!!

I haven’t heard yet either. I applied to Tisch for Musical Theater. I agree Kawaii, the waiting is worse than submitting the apps.

I’m with all of you on this-I wish we could just find out already!
This waiting period is even worse than the audition-at least then it was still in our hands!
I’ve been a mess for a week now, and I really want to know (and I want it to be good news)

Tisch Film Student, here also…Well the 15th soon dawns apoun us. Almost here guys we got this.

Tisch for Acting.
I’m so anxious!

I applied to tisch film school and the stress is killing me. Then I find out people who are getting their letters of acceptance right now are all the people who got LSP’ed so I don’t even know if I want right tomarrow.

Applied to Tisch for musical theatre. My SATs are way below average so I’m super nervous.

Tisch film for me too! I’m all the way out in California :P

I applied Tisch film. I’m honestly dying, I didn’t think that the wait would be this bad :

I live on Long Island, and I know the city like the back of my hand, me and my friends go to shows, and just hang out in the city all the time. NYU is easily my number 1.

did any of you prospective tischies go to the summer program at NYU? I’ve heard a rumor that a good percentage of the film school applicants also attended Summer in the City.

I keep wondering if that puts me at a disadvantage (did a pre-college at RISD instead)

I did not :/

I have a friend that applied last year, but did the summer program the summer after graduation, before he went to NYU. So I don’t know. I took all the media and cinema related classes my high school has to offer, which isn’t much. But some college reps from schools like RIT, and Emerson kept saying “we know which zip codes have the equipment and classes, and we tend to pick from the less fortunate zip codes” I never got the chance to ask that question when I visited NYU, but most film schools seem like they have very similar teaching methods, selection methods, etc. It seems like most schools want to focus on the teaching aspect rather then the polishing aspect.

I think I might do the summer program this summer, regardless if I’m accepted to NYU or not.

No letters have reached me in San Francisco yet

My son has applied to Tisch ED for Drama (Acting). No response yet.
Does anyone know if international students get an e-mail regarding their admissions notification? Because a regular post mail would take much longer to arrive…

Nothing for me today!

So I check my inbox today and I see an email address from NYU! Of course my heart starts to beat like no other and when I open the email what do I read… Sorry we did not receive your resume in the proper computer format! They asked me to resend it before Friday and that everything will be okay because everything else was on time! My question is 1) why are they notifying me so late in the process that they need me to resend my resume 2) does this mean that I’m probably in and just a legitimacy issue or is it the opposite, they rejected me and they just don’t want to get in trouble in case I found out that they didn’t review my resume. If they didn’t send me that email I would have never known and maybe(hopefully) the first part of my theory is correct. Also, maybe they are running behind schedule because I just checked my email and they sent it Wednesday! The promised we would find out around the 15th, I can’t play this wait and see game any longer!

I don’t know! Usually I’m chill and not a neurotic psycho but this whole patience thing doesn’t work for me!!!

What do you guys think?

Do you mean the creative resume? Because I printed mine out and mailed it. Did you send yours on a CD?

Nyuluv: I think it’s definitely a good thing. I would not stress.

We weren’t suppose to mail them in. Maybe we are talking about two different things. The acting resume, when you scheduled your audition/interview you had to load a PDF of your resume and bring in a hardcopy for the auditions so your auditor could look at if they wanted. I thought the audition was the most nerve wracking part of all of this but no, waiting for this letter is definitely the worst part!
