Tisch core curriculum

So I’ve been admitted to Tisch as a cinema studies student, I’m really excited. But, I have a question, my sister is a junior in dramatic writing and never had to take a math or science class at Tisch. That is my dream. I looked at the Tisch website and the core curriculum included math and science. Is it just for cinema studies students or all Tisch students? Honestly having to take a math and science class will affect my decision lol

tusubyo…

I have a kid in Tisch Drama and I will assume that the requirements for liberal arts is the came as for Cinema Studies (but you could double check)…but like your sister in Dramatic Writing, my D has never had to take science or math in college.

She had to take two freshmen writing classes, two Humanities courses (huge choice from a wide range of departments), two Sciences courses (huge range from many subjects…will explain in a moment), and two from either the Humanities or Sciences.

However, the “sciences” is very very broadly defined and encompasses LOTS of CAS departments…including such areas as Political Science, Psychology, Anthropology. In other words, you do not have to take math or a hard science like Bio, Chem, Physics.
