Tisch drama questions

Ill make this easy for you guys and please answer any that you can!

 1. how many students apply to tisch drama and how many get accepted? What about ED?
 2. will ED help my chances?
 3. i think I want to apply to the directing major because I love playwrights horizon. Is this easier to get into than if I applied to the acting major? This is my biggest question! Is the directing or acting major easier to get into? I think I could impress them more if I apply to directing although my lack of directing experience is what scares me. I will apply to the one that I have a better chance of getting into, and then after my two years of the primary studio I can see what track I want to take.
 4. tisch directing major-I’ve done a ton of theatre but was only allowed to direct something junior year (school rule) and I’ll direct something this year but it’ll be after I have applied. They want a monologue as part of the artistic review so I was thinking they’re not solely looking for people who have just been behind the scenes in theatre cause being a good director means being around all aspects of theatre, and I’ve done that. Will a lack of directed shows on my resume look terrible? Would I be better off going down the acting track since i have more experience on stage than off?

lisa edelstein went there! that’s so cool! anyways, I don’t know all the answers to your questions but i think you should say “do i like acting or directing more?” and whichever one it is do it because in the end itll probably be the best choice. It doesnt matter which one is better it’s the one you love, colleges want to see that you are passionate about something, not that you are just doing it because it looks good
