Tisch Summer Film Program for High School 2015

My first time posting on CollegeConfidential! I just was accepted into the Tisch Summer High School Filmmakers Workshop and wanted to hear people’s thoughts on this program. I really want to go and see the program to make sure film is something I want to pursue. If you’ve been there before, or know someone who has, I have a few questions:

  1. How many other students are in the program?
  2. Does it really improve your chances of getting into NYU Tisch for college?
  3. How similar is the program to actually attending the university program for filmmaking?
  4. Is it worth $10k?
  5. How much free time do the students have in New York?

  1. 56 other students are in the program.

Do you know how many applications they received?

700 for all the programs but they do not publish how many for film individually.

I’m attending for film this summer. I talked to a rep from nyu and she said that at the end of the program the professors write an evaluation of each student. This evaluation gets handed in with your application when you apply to the school. So this could possibly help you I assume, as long as the faculty think highly of you.
