Tisch -- What does REALLY it take?

I would love to attend Tisch and major in film, but I'm a bit paranoid about my credentials.

If anyone here has been accepted into Tisch, I'd love to get some insight on what they're really looking for.

I was accepted into a magnet high school, and I've been in the communications (or film, really) department for three years. My position/rank in the class is "Director"; it basically means I'm in charge of the group film projects and the school's news show. I've made several short films, and have experimented with many other things (music videos, advertisements, documentaries, etc). A group from my school and I entered in a 24-hour film contest and won third place.

Also, this summer, I attended a two-week film camp. And I work as a photographer for a private business.

So. Sigh. Think I got a shot? Or should I work like crazy for the next three months?

Thanks in advance!

Hi technicolor --
I was accepted to Tisch (dram. writing program), of course, I won't be attending because of cost issues, but I can still tell you what I know. Your activities clearly show a dedication to film; make this dedication known in your portfolio by highlighting your strengths. Be creative with it. Be innovative - try to show many facets of yourself in your portfolio. Obviously pay attention to your academics as well - this is just as important as your portfolio. Write a strong essay that gives honest insight into who you are. After that, relax, hope for the best, and hope that you can afford NYU if you do indeed get in! :]
Good Luck!!
