Reveriece, my D’s audition section was unchecked too. I would not worry about that at all. If I am remembering correctly I think the audition process used a separate web portal for uploading pictures, resumes and answering questions.

Oh… Phew! :D

I’m probably rejected. My SAT and GPA was so bad

Anyone that applied as a Tisch dance major hear anything yet? Nobody we know here has heard anything at all via albert or email and we live near two of the best performing arts high schools in the country with kids that get into Tisch and Julliard every year. I’m hoping it just means the dance department hasn’t released yet.

anybody get the message that you are not authorized to view this page once in Albert and clicking on admission status? Denial I guess…???

just got an email…waitlisted. I guess that’s better than a rejection. Anyone else get waitlisted?

I’m wait listed too. :(

missj212 you were not rejected! Being waitlisted is still an accomplishment. What did you apply for?

I auditioned for the straight acting program.

Even with the weird message this afternoon. My son got the acceptance email about 5pm…but didn’t see it until he got home from play practice at 10:30pm…

sigh. redirected to Core.

When do you all find out your studios? I think it took a couple of weeks after acceptance for my son to know. He’s a sophomore in New Studio on Broadway and absolutely loves it! He takes acting classes with the NSB MT kids and it’s great that he gets to know them too! NYU does a great job with placing kids in the proper studio too. They know what they are doing and if you don’t like where you are places, everyone gets to audition after their sophomore year for the advanced training studio. For example, you may start out in New Studio but can go to Meisner or Classical or whichever else for your junior and senior years. Congrats and to the parents- good luck with the tuition bill- it really hurts! lol

My daughter got her acceptance today! NYU was always at the top of her list, but now she is torn between BU and NYU.

S received e-mail yesterday. Admitted!

I’m rejected. My GPA was 2.9, and my SAT score was 1670… So I think my audition didn’t even matter with my low academics. Well, too bad they don’t know how english is my third language, and I’m coming from a French High School in a middle eastern country, and my high school was extremely careless in GPAs, and I was always the best in language classes. But, well… I wouldn’t chose NYU anyways. I don’t want BFA. So I shouldn’t be ranting :P

My daughter receive something called a “Tisch Scholarship.” Not a full scholarship by any means, but significantly larger than the merit aid at some of the other schools were she applied. I have been reading the NYU forums were a number of people are stating that NYU decreases scholarship amounts after the first year. Since scholarship will be a determining factor in where my daughter goes, I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they have experienced a decline in scholarship amount while their student was at Tisch. (Of course I also plan to call the office, and hope to get through to someone who can help me. But I would like corroborating info from families who have actually experienced this – not that I don’t believe everything financial aid officers tell me.)

Soozievt’s daughter actually got MORE money from Tisch after her freshman year!

@glassharmonica My dd’s scholarships basically stayed the same. There was one change in her sophomore year. The multiple scholarships were all rolled into the one called Tisch Scholarship. But the value was almost identical to her freshman year.

I was on the phone with NYU Financial Aid Friday morning. My D also received a very large “Tisch Scholarship”. We were told this amount would never change in all four years. The financial aid lady said that tuition may go up - or rather will go up - every year but that award amount is constant.

To those who have received Tisch Scholarships, you are very lucky indeed. We have been paying full tuition for the last two years. We are NOT rich. We also have another son in a NJ private college. We are committed to keeping these boys out of debt. Geez, sure would love Tisch to reach out and feel the love for our NSB sophomore, lol! Still, truly, we would not change a thing. He is right where he needs to be. So, rejoice in your good fortune people!

Since my D’s scholarship was referred to in a post earlier upthread…

When she was admitted, she received what was called a Trustee Scholarship from Tisch, which was pretty significant and it was the same all four years (and we were told that when we called to understand what it was she received that April). On top of that, yes, in her senior year at Tisch, they awarded her three more smaller scholarships, which we did not expect. But the original scholarship was consistent all four years and that was what was explained before she ever entered.

Also, as a senior at Tisch, the faculty nominated her for a national theater scholarship and she was the winner and so she got a small scholarship post graduation too.

Now, we pay back lotsa loans too!~ ;)
