Is anyone waiting to hear about acceptance into Tish Dance? Anyone already accepted early decision?

I’m waiting too!!!

daughter anxiously waiting! It was also my understanding that there was no ED for dance this year.

My daughter is also waiting to hear from nyu tish school of dance. she has already been accepted into the dance program but is waiting to see if she got in academically April 1st is when they are suppose to send out e-mails but that is a sunday I am hoping they send them out friday!?? does anyone know?

They don’t separate acceptance between academics and talent for Tisch and there was not any EDI or II this year. Just curious how your D was accepted to the Tisch dance major already? It’s one acceptance on one day based on talent and academics combined. I hear for Tisch that academic standards are often lowered a bit if the talent is strong. My daughter had a very favorable audition and interview but by no means do we consider her accepted since there were so many audition dates and locations with many talented dancers. I can’t believe we are still waiting for NYU. I thought we would have heard by now as last year decisions were released on the 25th.
3 more schools out of 8 to hear from and hoping hear from them by this weekend. She’s 5 for 5 so far.

My daughter goes to a performing arts school where many universities come (nyu was one of many) they spent 3-4 days giving classes, watching performances, and doing one on one interviews during the high schools college showcase week back in November. It was during her one on one interview that she was told she was accepted into the dance program but would need to apply to nyu to determine if her academics and sat scores would also be accepted. She also received a letter from nyu confirming her acceptance to tisch dance and that they will be reviewing the rest of her application. So we are now anxiously waiting for April 1st! Yes I have also heard that they might lower the academics for strong talent. We are also waiting to hear from Fordham Ailey school. She has lots of decisions to make nyu and fordham is one of her top choices so far.

My daughter received her e-mail yesterday and unfortunitly she is waitlisted.

My daughter was wait listed too but just got accepted today!! She is sticking with her original decision of Michigan School of Music Theater and Dance though. She was given a small scholarship there and really wants the full college experience after being there for her audition weekend. They also offer a dual degree program which she was accepted to so she will also earn a degree in communication studies through the school of Liberal Science and Arts with her home school being SMTD. Where are your daughters going skymom and clippernation?

My daughter is going to University of Wisconsin - Madison as of now and is hoping/praying to clear the NYU - dance waitlist. Just curious what is your daughters GPA.

Hi I haven’t been on here in a while. Her unweighted GPA is a 3.97. Weighted im not sure, 5.2- 5.3? She had 12 total AP classes. Hope your daughter had good news from NYU. Wisconsin is a great school too!

My daughter cleared the waitlist as well. We are actually enroute to Wisconsin now and plan on spending Monday there and then we are going to NYU Tuesday. She needs to make up her mind. Very different schools, experience and dance programs. Thoughts?

So Clippernation, what did she decide? If it’s Tisch, she will likely be there with my dd, who will be transferring from here current program.

*her current program

Tish it is. She loved the University of Wisconsin-Madison but the dance program there doesn’t compare to Tish.

Well good for her! She will be there with mine then.

What is your daughters name so my daughter can meet her through the Tish-Dance Facebook page.

Quill, I’m sure they will meet or have already meet on facebook.
