Title IV

I am really split on which degree to take. For one thing, I am former military, and I have attended various schools foreign and stateside (87 semester credits in total). I have Va benefits, but not that much... So I just want to attend an online college.

There are some online military-friendly schools. One, American military university, which I have no doubts about.. and American Sentinel University, which I do have doubts about.

In particular, ASU is Title IV eligible, but does not participate. I think that means no financial aid. If you look at their website, Tuition & Fees | Cost per Credit Hour | American Sentinel University
They make it sound like not participating in Title IV is good. How?

Might they just not be accredited enough for it?

I don’t know anything about ASU. Here are the government regulations covering distance learning & correspondence courses: http://ifap.ed.gov/fsahandbook/attachments/0910FSAHbkVol2Ch8DistanceEd.pdf

I would be leery of giving a lot of money to a school unless it is accredited & has a proven track record of placement in the field of study you plan to pursue.
