So, I've been accepted to UPenn SEAS and I got a question about my schedule. My schedule changes in the next coming semester because I take 4 half year courses. I listed them on my application as half credit courses and my first 2 courses are ending this coming january. My question is, could that hurt me in my acceptance to Penn and possible rescindation?

Uhm, I highly doubt it.

On the common app, the courses section was split into first semester, second semester, and third semester. You would have written your half year courses in the first semester section, so Penn knows that they are half year courses.

Also, regardless of what you indicate, it should show it on your transcript, right?

Accepted into MIT, Caltech and UPenn early, is this applicant committed to UPenn? Is it possible to decline UPenn and go elsewhere? I just heard of one person being accepted by these three schools.

They are committed to go to Penn early unless financial aid dictates that they are unable to. More likely than not though…they’ll be going to Penn.

@disagreement, yes I thought so, unless he got a likely letter from Penn and is saying he is admitted. One needs to be careful in selecting early schools – I told my S2 not to send an ED school (but rather do it as RD) and limit it to a couple of EAs. When he got in both EAs, he was happy for not sending in the ED (Columbia).

Yeah, unless he is saying he got in early because of a likely letter…but congrats to S2 on the EAs :)
