To All Iranians...

Eid eh shomah moberak!!! Happy Persian New Year!:) I wish you all the best of luck this coming year, when many of us will be deciding upon colleges and then going to college.

happy new year!

Thanks!!! C'mon... I know that there are Iranian CC'ers... probably all out partying (I just came home myself :)) Happy Norooz!

bump bump bump bump

hey im half persian. where are yall from. I'm from British Columbia.

I'm half Persian, too. I'm from CT.

which university are you going to attend?

I wish I knew!!! I'll be finding out in the next few weeks. I've applied to twn schools total: Brown, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Gettysburg, Carnegie Mellon, University of Chicago, Yale, Harvard, Tufts, UCONN. Are you going to Stanford?

Never mind, Stanfordlover, I found your other thread on the topic. My parents have been saying some of the same things to me about undergraduate education not being really important in comparison to graduate studies. I'll just have to see where I get in first!

what are your stats?

Pretty mediocre.... most of the schools I listed are reaches.
SAT: 1350 (700V, 650M)
SAT IIs: 740, 730, 680
GPA: 4.25
Class rank: Top 2%
ECs: Earth Club (Secretary), NHS (Secretary), Peer Connection, Academic Team (captain), Key Club (Secretary), Rocket Team
Hook: I attended an international DNA sequencing and analysis conference in Washington D.C.--- my high school was the only one to attend and present a project... I included an abstract w/ all of my apps.
Major: Molecular Biology / Biotechnology

So, yeah, my chances at most of the schools I listed are probably pretty slim. Oh, well, we'll see how it goes the next few weeks. Good luck!

well i guess its worth a shot...whats your other half?

25% Polish, 25% English. Your other half?

Hah, I'm a bit late, but merci!

100% Iranian here. I hope you all had a good one.

too late, but you get the point.

Eid yesterday, my birthday and today hopefully I will get my acceptance lettter tomorrow and make it a trifecta.
7/8 Persian 1/8 Turk if anyone is curious

Tabalod eht moberak (it's really hard sounding out Farsi using the English alphabet:)) Good luck with college letters! Where are you applying?

Thanks, 18 seems alot older than 17, kind of weird.

I applied to George Mason University (accepted) American University (accepted) William & Mary (?) and University of Virginia (?). I should be getting W&M very soon, but I think I am going to get waitlisted.

Congrats! :)
