I was wondering for those of you who are applying to the McCombs Business School at UT (specifically in-state students) did you get any reply that you were accepted/denied at that specific school? The reason why I am asking is because a couple of people I know got their school/department decision as well. One of my good friends was accepted in to the Biomedical Engineering program. I got a letter saying wait till February to get my official decision for what school I am gonna get into, is that the case only for the business school?

One of my D’s friends has her UT acceptance as well as her McCombs. It came about two weeks ago. And my D has her Biochemistry acceptance as well as her Plan II honors.

^^ Really? was she instate? I am really freaking out over this because they sent me a letter stating I had to wait until february for my decision while some other people I know instantly knew what school they were accepted too… is it because I am top 4% and mccombs does the acceptances with percentage rankings?

^^ Isn’t that roughly top 2%? =P … but I guess if not the rank then of course the EC’s and SAT… I have solid EC’s as well according to people on CC and many other people I know but my SAT’s aren’t great but they are a good…

Haha…yeah…2%…I guess I had your post in my head when I posted that… But the bottom line is have faith! I have determined there is no predicting admission. What I do know, is waiting stinks.

I believe they auto-accept top 1-2%, so they do rolling admissions for people in those percentiles. Everyone else gets notification by February, or whenever they said at the latest.

Don’t worry about it. February is when EVERY high school studen will know their admission. They are saying that you’ll know BY then if not sooner.

I got in…top 1.5%. When I emailed a McCombs admissions officer he said it was top 2% rolling admissions but not necessarily automatic admittance unlike, say, Cockrell engineering which is top 5% auto.
