Another year home will definitely help him mature more. I don’t think I would’ve been mature enough to go as a 9th grader anyways These past few years have humbled me and taught me a lot of things. Good luck if he applies next year, though!

And good luck with other decisions :]

Monochrome: Ohhh. Haha. My bad.

Bump bumpity bump bump. I hope keeping this on the front page will help some people…

what a great message. that cheered me up a bit after receiving my wait list letter from lawrenceville

I’m glad to help!

Update: I just got rejected to Choate! haha second year in a row, and like last year, the letter says it was on basis of them not being able to give me enough FA :p

wait i just read your post thingy. you can ask the school as to why you didnt get accepted? thats cool. someone told me that they would never answer

For Choate, if your rejection is financial aid based they state so in the rejection letter. The financial aid coordinator, Andy Noel, said this in his Q&A. In any other case, I believe you are also allowed to call the admissions office and ask why you were rejected. Did this person tell you this from personal experience?

metallika you are AMAZING for writing this post! Loved it!

i didnt get in to my fave skools last year, and so far this year is turnin out so great either but ur advice is still really helpful

I already posted this on a different thread but I wanted to post it again:

Even if you didn’t get into anywhere you want to go don’t focus on what you did wrong or what you didn’t do that you should’ve . Focus on getting in next year. Exactly two years ago tomorrow I found out that I was rejected from SPS and two other third or fourth tier schools I applied to. The only place I got in I didn’t really want to go to. I didn’t let it bring me down and I just went to my local public school and worked on getting in the next year. I decided to apply last year as a repeat freshman to Exeter, Deerfield, and NMH. I got accepted at NMH and Exeter and waitlisted at Deerfield. I’m currently a repeat 9th grader at Exeter.
