To all of us who got accepted, the hardest part now is......

The Choice between the University of Phoenix Online or USC..........damn, what a toughie. Lol

JUST MADE IT IN, HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR READY FOR THE FIRST STEP TO SUCCESS IN OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, the hardest part is waiting for the dream school's response. USC is honestly not my number 1. I'm waiting for the UCs which is 23 days away. What a wait!

Well, this is why people are different, not better or worse, but different. In my opinion any UC outside of Berkely is worse than SC, and even then, Berkley is iffy. But hey, that's just me, I hope you get in, good luck.

Oh man - 23 days away?! (bites nails) And for other schools it's about the same time too (ugh!!!).

I'm actually in wait for the letter telling me whether I've got a scholarship or not - that's the hardest part. If I don't get one, well... so much for getting accepted...

Haha, it's UCLA vs. USC for me...no matter which I choose, I'm gonna have to end up hating the other =P

ucb vs ucla vs usc....who shall triumph

i get the feeling that most people want to go to ucla, but many end up at usc.

maybe that's why there's such a bitter rivalry.

Or vice-versa.

if you can get into ucla.... you can get into usc, it's just a matter of if you can pay for usc lol

Oh not true ryanp1000. There were quite a few applicants at my d's school that got into UCLA last year but rejected from USC. (4.6 gpa's, etc.) I think USC has really set the bar higher the past couple of years. It's not as easy to get in as it used to be.

^

I definately second that.. USC was almost an academic joke 10 years ago.. they went from 47th in the nation to 27th in 8 years. Kudos to them!

And I believe they are looking to climb even higher than 27th. Since D attends USC, I receive a lot of literature on their intended plans. Well, only the "stuff" they make public of course; however, it is very impressive. I think they are really trying to improve on the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. I think it will be interesting to see "if" they wind up surpassing UCLA at year-end.

Probably.. everyone predicts for USC to be more and more like Stanford within the next 5 years.

To people outside of California or LA even for that matter, UCLA is looked at as being a far better school. USC is known for their sports and that's about it.

the hardest part now is......
to come up with the $$ to pay for it.

I'm from jersey and I disagree with that... a lot of people don't really know the difference between sc and ucla here, but those that do usually know sc for (1) film school, (2) overall academics, (3) football.

West Coast101 - While your statement may be true as of today, who really cares what other people outside of California think? She plans to stay in California so for that matter, USC has amazing connections throughout the entire state. Probably some of the best. May be a different story if she planned on living on the east coast for the rest of her life.

Mothermoo - I agree with you. We definitely had to cross that bridge when we came to it. Good thing she received a 4-yr scholarship through the AROTC, otherwise she would likely be elsewhere.

That's funny. I'm from Pennsylvania (actually, right next to U Penn) and people over here think of USC as the NYU of the west coast. People here don't even bother applying to UCLA because it's a public school that belongs to the UC System.

You want a good school in Cali? Either Stanford or USC.

I wonder how you can speak for people outside of California when you're not out of state yourself?

:)

I got into both USC and UCLA and I'm having a hard time trying to decide which one now. They both look good to me.

^

are you in state or out of state?

really depends on your major.. if it's business/communication/not science/math, I'd choose USC.
