I am biochemical engineering major and a pre-med. I really want to study medicine in the future but I am not that competitive enough and I don't know how to manage my time well. If you all could answer my questions or give me tips on how to achieve my goal, that'd be great.
How many hours do you study for your classes everyday? How do you keep yourself motivated to reach your goal of becoming a doctor? Do you compete with your classmates? How do you handle your social life?

Study time: depends, study until I feel confident on the material that was covered

Motivation: go down and volunteer a few hours a week in the ER

Competition: compete with myself, no one else

Social life: meet with friends during weekends for a while, week is very hectic, so not much during week

Advice: If you want to become a doctor, you WILL become a doctor. Take everything one day at a time. Set short term goals, map your exam and quiz schedules out and prepare your week according to the next examination. Try to not fall behind (easier said than done).
