To All those Who Enjoy Writing-

I very rarely show anyone the stuff I write be it poetry or short stories. I've shown some of the short stories to a couple of friends, but they didn't really seem to care much either way.

But yeah, my mom.....considering I'm not even talking to her anymore.....somehow I doubt that she'd appreciate and/or understand anything I write.

I write normal fiction stuff, and my parents don't really read it... Because they don't even like young adult fiction stuff, haha. And then there are some freakishly disturbing poems my friend and I wrote together- I think they would send me to therapy if they saw those, lol. They're mostly as jokes, but still.

I write a journal and like little memoirs of life

sometimes I post them online, many times I share it with friends and family. Sometimes they can be really helpful (like if I write about an issue)

I tend to write music lyrics and poems too.

And some friends do help me out on writing better poems and lyrics, especially those who are musically inclined

i have the kind of parents that have the mentality of 'oh you are the best at what ever you do' even though i didn't when any trophies this year for debate, but in their eyes i am the best, this is literally what my mom said
"Hon, you could go to nationals. i hear you practice. you are just perfect."

OK thanks for the encouragement but....yeah they've left me over confident and under prepared for the world.
THANKS!
So in answer to your question, no, no i do not, i know their response already.

well my current story is about a 33-year-old bipolar guy on disability, and how his sister helps him commit suicide. the idea (or the challenge, really) is to portray her as loving and merciful

i'm also writing one about an imaginary friend who hates being imaginary

and sometimes i write song parodies about nethack

I want to read the imaginary friend one when your finished.

haha thanks :) but i never finish my stories so yeah

Ok, I just want to read what you have then.

I used to show my mom my writing when I was in elementary and middle school and she always really liked it and praised me on it, even stuff I look back on and think is pretty bad. I don't show her anymore, but I also write less now.

I usually show it to my mother to proofread and stuff. I like for people to read my things. I don't show things to my father because I don't like the guy.
I also like showing stories to my mother because then I can send them to my aunt who is an author, so she can actually tell me what's good and what I need to work on.

lol alright this is what i have so far :p

Elizabeth, a General fanfic - FictionPress.com

I like what I've read so far. Great idea. I'm jealous it wasn't mine.

aw thank you ^_^ now you have to show me something you wrote

I might steal your idea and make it into my own just to warn you. I think I could twist that nicely (so as not to copy yours) :)

I love writing with a passion. I've written short stories--mostly unfinished--ever since I was a child. In middle school, I wrote depressing short stories and angst fanfiction for Invader ZIM and other fandoms. I'm incredibly ashamed of that time period of my life. I'm a senior now, and I dabble in music lyrics and short stories that go unfinished. I never show my parents what I write because frankly, they wouldn't understand symbolism. I love them to death, however, and they are very supportive. My writing is for close friends only.

My mind is full of vague plots and ideas. I'd love to write a memoir someday.

I love writing. Mind, I'm not a good writer; writing style sucks and I'm still trying to work it out with flow, but I absolutely adore it...

And no, don't show any of my writing to my parents; they're non-native, so their English is ... not too great. On the other hand, I do let some of my friends read; thankfully, they're not afraid to throw criticism back at me, and I guess I'll start posting some stuff once I'm at peace with how I write. =/

I dabble in just about everything, though flintlock/steampunk fantasy's my usual genre.

I dont show my parents my writing, they wouldn't understand it. Sure, they'd tell me "good job" and things like that, but that's no good.
I have my best friend edit my work, she's a greater writer than I am (she seriously is great), and my stupid little stories are only making fun of the crazy stunts we do anyways, so no big deal ;)
