<p>I'm at a community college applying for NYU's Fall 08 term. I'm hoping to get into Stern, but tips on other majors are also helpful for all the other non-business applicants roaming these forums.</p>

<p>I come from a low income family, and I only got 1/5 financial aid this year. I need 5/5 financial aid. I knew I was going to try to transfer to a prestigious school with better aid, from the beginning. Stern is fantastic though. Great school. I just received another scholarship that brings me up to 2/5 aid, so my chances of staying are greater. And also, I'm staying in the number 1 dorm in the nation next year if I stay. So I'm weighing between a number of options that are all favorable. Honestly though, if I could stay at Stern without paying through the ass, I'd be glad to stay.</p>
<p>just borrow that 100k+ from the bank and make sure you land it big at a bulge brack after you graduate :)</p>
