i haven't heard much from you guys except for that study thread. we seem to be a quieter group this year. especially with all those crazy kids from apush.. haha jk jk. but seriously whose taking the exam? whose ready? whose super nervous?

any predictions for free responses??

i really hope we get something on gas laws and the equilibrium question does not involve buffers or i will just die!!

i'm really shaky on electrochem and buffers..they are soo hard. i really hope we don't have a qusetion involving them.

i'm using PR and its pretty good. the chapters seem to be a little skimpy on the topics but it could possibly be sufficient. i dont know. i used barrons for sat2s chem and it was terrible.. way tooo much unnecessary information and it drove me crazy. what book are the rest of you using?

what should i truly focus on? i know acid-base is probably goina be a biggie, but the descriptive stuff is like wth?? other than that, i think i'll probably be ok

I'm using the PR, and I was really surprised at how much in knew in that book despite my low grades in chem. I think I'm pretty much prepared for the exam other than some acid/base stuff and titration. My guess on the free response is the first one will be something acid/base, ksp, you know the usual. I'm hoping for an option there will be kinetics or electrochem. The only thing I'm really bad at is lab stuff.

My teacher didn't do a good job preparing my class at all. He covered some stuff really in depth that wasn't even on the test. Other stuff, he sort of skimmed over. Then, one of the most important topics, acids and bases, he assigned as group presentations. Possibly the stupidiest thing he has done considering we had only about 18 classes left and these presentations were suppose to take up about 8 of those (and of course went longer than expected). In addition, we learned nothing from them because everyone threw the presentations together at the last minute. Basically the teacher being lazy. So annoying!

We've been pretty good so far. We finished the curriculum mid-April, and have been doing past year's exams for the better part of the last 2 weeks (we had break for one week). Today, We took the 2002 exam, and I scored a 5, hopefully this will translate to a 5 on the real test.

Oh you are so lucky boxesarefun. We still haven't finished the cirriculum, and have only taken one practice test so far (and that was only the MC). Our teacher has had no weekend study sessions or practice test sections. I've basically stopped paying attention in class because its a waste of time and I just learn it on my own at home from the textbook.

we've finished up the cirriculum after first semester so basically we've been reviewing ever since then. i feel pretty confident that i'll get a 4, maybe even a 5. my teacher expects me to get a 5 so we'll see. there are only a few concepts that im going to review before the test. im just glad that after wednesday it will all be over. :D

nothingbutthebest~ wow! we are not even done with electrochemistry
:(. still have organic chem and nuclear chem to do. teacher sucks! lucky we spent couple of weeks last year on organic and nuclear.

I am kinda sure that I will get a four but I seriously need a 5. I studied chem like crazy (my standards, at least) during spring break. Almost done with the princeton review book. I will just do couple of practice tests and probably finish up the PR book during school (have so many free periods because all the AP exams are done!)

do you get frees in your ap classes after the exams? My ap teachers are still giving us work/quizzes. It's so annoying, because they could at least wait until all the ap tests are over before giving us work again.

My teacher was an AP grader and he made us stay after school and do a practice test with test-like condition (Although he gave us pizza), but we weren't supposed to study. I managed to go into the 5 range by 20 raw score points, but it wasn't until Part III that I had a chance. On the first two parts I my scores were more low-mid 4 range. My part III just earned me so many points that my score jumped into 5 range. So my plan is to look at this study packet he gave us for a few hours to ensure that I remain in the 5 range.

-edit- BTW, my teacher did like a full-spread statistical analysis from all the tests for the Part II and III stuff. He's predicting that there will be ka/ksp, redox, and rates in the form of an essay. Obviously not guaranteed, but he's actually pretty good at predicting.

we finished orgo/nuclear chem 2-3 weeks ago and have just been doing old tests/PR MC tests in class and going over answers..we spent about 3 secs on buffers thus idk how to calculate them :(. Other than that I think I'll be pretty good.

There was a study session this morning but I opted not to go, idk if I'll go on Monday and Tues after school either...they really aren't very productive, compared to, say APUSH's study sessions. I just end up sitting there w/o any guidelines, etc.

I don't think you can get 2002 m.c. That was a released one right? My teacher used that for our practice test and he said he had to go to a special site and pay for it.
