Hi, I realize on these forums you commonly see posts "Will I get into _" or "What are my chances for _". I have a completely different question.

Why did you go to Caltech? When you got there what stood out to you? (pros and cons)

And lastly what differentiates Caltech from other top universities?

Thanks, and fyi I am a good student, just trying to decide which school I will be applying to.

Read the why Caltech is different thread that is stickied up above. That should help you.

size and intense science and math focus, and the type of students it attracts are the main differences. though each student has to determine how s/he responds to what is perceived or real differences are.

some reasons to apply to cal tech are: 1. you’re passionate about math and science 2. like to work hard (very hard) 3. interested in research-oriented careers.

remember, applying does not mean you go there, but have an opportunity to seriously consider it if offered admission.

thanks for your guys input, i read the stickied thread
