okay some people will give you crazy statistics. mine aren’t all that great but i still got into ucla and other good ones. i think schools calculate your acceptance on so many things that comparing yourself to other students doesn’t always work. but it does give you a pretty good idea. =D lol.

hmmm…well, i think you’re pretty spot on. Maybe, though, if I were you, I’d retake the SAT (perhaps in June?) just because people tend to miraculously do better the second time around. and bump up that Math II SAT score somehow. But don’t worry, there is much hope .

29 on the ACT which is around a 1950, so you’re around the area. However, i think it’ll depend on which major you’re intending to go into. If they include something to do with biology/engineering, I’d try and bump those SAT scores up.

lets face it- none of us have the magical formula to get in. we don’t know the magical SAT score to hit or what your GPA ‘needs’ to be. just aim high and work your butt off and hope it pays off. you are looking okay as a junior though

dude you play any sports? it helps that you play SOME kind of sports even if its intramural. you know, shows your “well-roundedness” so you get in with their “holistic” approach

To be honest i didnt read all the posts before me, so idk if anyone already suggested this, but if you think your SATs are too low try the ACT. Instead of trying the SAT for a third time i did the ACT and i got 33 the first try.

If it makes you feel better your stats are around mine (actually better except the SAT scores) and I got in for engineering, but I think I got in because materials engineering is still fairly new.

UCLA tends to select more well-rounded students, so good SAT scores (2000+) and GPA (~4.1 UC GPA), and good extra-curricular activities (like leadership positions, awards, etc) can get u into UCLA.

dont even worry i got in and i am involved in alot on my campus but i didnt score so high on my SATs and ACTs. ive taken 7 AP courses and im senior president and a Youth facilitator of a girls organization.
its tough to get in but its not impossible, you seem on track!
good luck!

They don’t have to be that great if you have other things going for you.

I am an accepted! out of state applicant with a 1990 score. HOWEVER: My gpa is 4.8…so just make sure you have something phenomenal to keep you balanced.
