To appeal or not to appeal?

Well, if worst comes to worst, I can always take a train up to LA, right? Stay for the weekend...etc etc. I guess the chill life of SD would help after an LA-weekend of partying.

ew, i wanna go to SD to get away from LA area! lol.

doesn't being able to be away from the past 16 years of your life sound appealing at all?

Is anyone SURE about sending in SIR for one UC and appealing to another and if the appeal is successful we're allowed to cancel the SIR??

because I got into UCSD and i sent in my SIR, and i feel like i might have a chance @ UCLA with my appeals letter!

Chong22 - yes, it's OK. My son did that a few years back. When you appeal is approved for UCLA, send in the UCLA SIR and deposit. After you have done that, send/fax/email a letter to UCSD to cancel your SIR. You'll be out the UCSD deposit.

Good luck w/ the UCLA appeal. Will you have guaranteed housing at UCLA if the appeal goes through?

I would also like to know about what OverworkedMom asked,

do freshmanstudents accepted on an appeal to UCLA have guaranteed housing since their housing deadline is a lot earlier than some other UC's?
