# to apply to and fallbacks

Hey guys, I was wondering how many IB summer internships you plan on applying for? I guess it can't hurt to send out resumes to as many places as possible...but I don't want to overwhelm myself with interviews either (if i'm lucky enough to get them lol).

Also, i'm primarily interested in IB but was wondering what other types of finance or banking-related internships (less competitive ones) i should go for in case i cant get into IB. What other firms/types of jobs should i be looking at? Thanks

Apply to every firm that recruits or has drop on-campus. From my experience IB online applications are a waste of time unless you know someone at the firm. You can try to do F500 corporate finance/big 4 accounting as a back-up.

Don’t simply assume you’ll be overwhelmed by interviews - honestly, that is a among the better case scenarios - more likely, you will not be overwhelmed with interviews unless you are a total rockstar with a bunch of contacts. Apply to as many as you can since an IB SA position will be your best bet to both make yourself more appealing to FT IB and actually land a FT IB position before even starting your senior year (the return offer).
